OpenLabs’s Ghana and Ghana Tech Lab — Two Tech hubs in the country are teaming up and using shared resources to expand technical training, promote Entrepreneurship and to accelerate the creation of jobs across the region.
The two companies announced a partnership earlier last week to expand services with the aim of moving Ghana closer to the digital future.
Ghana Tech Lab is established as a strategic ecosystem hub to promote the position of Ghana as Africa’s number one (№1) center for highly-skilled digital human capital, seeding innovations, and growing startups.
They provide a free fertile platform for developing and accelerating innovative and promising ideas to achieve a product-market fit that addresses situations in society.
The Tech Lab is a joint-venture between Innohub Ghana and Kumasi Hive under the Ministry of Communications Ghana’s eTransform project with funding from the World Bank.
In collaboration with Mastercard Foundation, Ghana Tech Lab is also part of the solution to youth employment in Africa under the Pathways to Sustainable Employment (PaSE) Project.
Clearly, besides the presence of a desire to work as a team, there is also a common goal between both parties as they seek to inspire a digital sense in an entrepreneurial style while giving necessary training towards technological innovation and prowess.
OpenLabs Ghana has already proven its capabilities in this area with remarkable digital training to Ghana over the past 20 years of its existence. One of the achievements OpenLabs is most proud of is the successful coverage of the Tamale region, creating a hope in technology for the less privileged by providing quality skill education and training.
The MoU was signed by the Director of OpenLabs Ghana Mr. Sujith Jayaprakash and the Managing Associate of Ghana Tech Lab Mr. Edward Akani.
